The Cyberabad cyber crime police have arrested a 33-year-old software engineer in Hyderabad, after he live streamed sexual acts with his wife, without her consent.
According to reports, the man had been committing the crime for almost six months, before his wife realised and filed a police complaint in November last year.
In November last year, we received a complaint from a working woman stating that one of her friends living in Kerala had informed her about a video that surfaced on the internet in which her sexual act was caught, but the man in the video was not visible.Cyberabad Cyber Crime ACP S Jayaram to TNIE
The police say that the man placed the laptop in such a way that his face could not be seen, and also played something else on the screen, to con his wife.
The man did this with the intention of earning money, as he had even registered himself with porn sites, the police said.
The man had also registered as a male 'escort', on several websites, to make additional money.
The Hindustan Times reported that the man was arrested last week, but the details of the woman was kept under wraps, on her request.
After making discreet enquiries about his habits and profile, we thoroughly screened his e-mails, bank transactions and social media interactions. The data we recovered gave us enough evidence to conclude that the accused was responsible.Jayaram to Hindustan Times
The accused has reportedly confessed to his crime.
Further details are awaited.
