A day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked Kirron Kher during a rally in Chandigarh, actor-turned-politician Gul Panag on Monday, 25 February, praised the BJP leader on Twitter, saying that "she has been a dutiful MP.”

Kejriwal had hit out at Kher on Sunday, 24 February, and said that she was “inaccessible” to the people of her constituency.

"You made Kirron Kher MP from here during last elections. She is an actress from Mumbai and keeps going there to earn money," the AAP convener had said.

Gul, who had contested against Kher on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, came to the latter’s defence and tweeted, "Yes @KirronKherBJP is an actress. But she has been a dutiful MP & her attendance record in Parliament is over 75%. Further, she spends most of her time in Chandigarh. There have been many good parliamentarians from a plethora of professions – including the film industry."

The BJP MP took note of Panag's tweet and expressed how "humble" her comment made her.

"Gul, 5 years ago when we fought the election, we both did it with all our might. So today, hearing this comment from my most worthy opponent has truly humbled me," Kher tweeted.

All Was Not Well 5 Years Ago

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Gul Panag -- representing AAP -- and BJP’s Kher had fought against each other. Back then, Twitter was a often the battleground for the two actress-turned-politicians, reported Hindustan Times.
