Here’s a delightful news on the occasion of Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi: the early morning Ganesha aarti and the azaan were conducted in the same pandal at Thane’s Mumbra on Thursday, 20 September.
The pandal was set up by the Ekta Mitra Mandal in Mumbra’s Charni Pada to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi for 11 days, according to Navbharat Times. The majilis, meanwhile, was organised for Muharram prayers by the Hussaini Foundation.
While devotees are sharing the mic and loudspeaker, organisers are coordinating the timings for the respective prayers to be conducted through the day.
“We celebrate festivals together. We have a common mic and loudspeaker and coordinate our prayers timing,” a devotee told ANI.
“Certain rulers are deliberately trying to create a rift between the two communities for their benefit. We need to be careful of such people,” Abdul Razzak, chief of the Hussaini Foundation, told NBT.
