In a gesture of harmony and goodwill, Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, which operates in Jammu and Kashmir, in the last week of May organised Iftar feasts in several areas of Kashmir including Gulmarg, Kuparwa and Khanpet for the awam or the local civilian population.
In Gulmarg, the police and civil dignitaries were also invited.
The official twitter handle of the Chinar Corps put out a series of tweets on the same:
The feasts are part of an ongoing campaign to foster a connect between the army and the civilian population in the conflict-torn Kashmir Valley. The tweets were largely met with support from twitter users.
