A non-profitable group named ‘House of Stray Animals’ has set up a free animal dispensary in Sector 55, Noida, which will be open 24x7, reported Hindustan Times.
The dispensary was inaugurated on Monday, 26 February, by Mahesh Sharma, Minister of Culture.
It will have facilities like X-ray, a mini operation theatre, vaccinations, mobile OPD, and ambulance. The dispensary will also provide free anti-rabies vaccination.
The aim of this dispensary is to provide quick and free treatment to stray animals. We also have a moving OPD facility which can be utilised to treat animals in different areas.Sanjay Mohapatra, president, House of Stray Animals, to HT
According to HT, the hospital will collaborate with Dr Lal PathLabs for blood tests and other advanced procedures. The dispensary will also organise stray animal adoption camps.
“With the vaccination of animals, we are also making our society rabies free. We have got the permission to run this dispensary for one year, for now. With the help of this dispensary, we hope to provide some relief to stray animals. We will be happy if people come forward and donate for the welfare of stray animals ,” Mohapatra told HT.
The clinic also plans to organise awareness camps in colleges and housing societies. Mohapatra said that there was a need to develop sensitivity towards animals to stop cruelty meted out to them.
