A chartered plane crashed on the afternoon of Thursday, 28 June, in a residential area of Mumbai's Ghatkopar, killing five, including all four on board. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation confirmed that a pedestrian, and the two pilots and two engineers on board the Beechcraft King Air C90 were killed.
Captain P S Rajput, co-pilot Maria Zuberi, Aircraft Mechanical Engineer Surbhi, and Aircraft Technician Manish Pandey have been identified as people who were on board the craft. The DGCA confirmed that the aircraft took off from Juhu Airport on a test flight.

PC-12 Aircraft, Crashed in Faridabad
A PC-12 single-engine aircraft crashed in Faridabad's densely populated Parvatia Colony on May 26, 2011, killing 10 people, including three who lived in the two-storey building the plane crashed into. The aircraft was carrying a patient, Rahul Raj, from Patna to New Delhi for special treatment.
BSF Chartered Aircraft, Crashed in Delhi
A chartered aircraft of the Border Security Force crashed, killing 10 people, near the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on December 22, 2015.
The plane, Beech Super King Air B-200, developed some technical snag soon after it took off. When a pilot of the aircraft requested the air traffic control for priority landing, an emergency was declared. However, the plane lost control before it could land, and crashed near the outer wall of the airport.
Air India Boeing 737-800, Crashed in Mangalore
In 2010, an Air India Boeing 737-800 crashed while landing at the Mangalore airport, killing 158 people on board. Eight passengers, however, miraculously survived the crash. According to reports then, the pilots did not report any malfunction to the Airport Traffic Control (ATC), before landing at the Mangalore Airport.
ALLIANCE Air flight CD 7412
On July 17, 2000, ALLIANCE Air flight CD7412, a passenger plane flying from Calcutta to New Delhi, via Patna and Lucknow, crashed into a government colony two km from Patna Airport, killing 51 people including all crew members on board.
AIR India Boeing 747 jet, Crashed into Sea
On 1 January 1978, an Air India Boeing 747 jet took off from the Bombay Airport, but soon after crashed into the sea, killing all 213 people on board. The plane was ferrying 190 passengers and had 23 crew members on board.
