Four Bangladeshi nationals have been detained in Ludhiana in connection with the gang-rape of a 72-year-old nun in West Bengal’s Nadia district.

Kolkata Police has been informed about their detention. Earlier, the Bengal CID arrested two people from Mumbai and Habra (North 24 Paraganas) in West Bengal.

The nun was gangraped by a group of armed robbers in a convent on March 14. She was a Sister Superior at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Nadia, West Bengal.

After the incident, she was admitted to a local hospital. She was later discharged and taken to an undisclosed destination.

A study of CCTV footage at the convent had shown four persons, who were allegedly involved in the crime.

The gang broke into the school and four of them raped the nun after gagging her. They also took Rs 12 lakh kept in the almirah locker before fleeing the place.
