A fire broke out at the Metro Hospital in Noida's Sector 12 on Thursday, 7 February, trapping several people inside the multi-storey building. It was triggered by a short-circuit on the second floor of the hospital, PTI reported.

Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate BN Singh told the news agency that more than 60 people were inside the hospital when the incident occurred, adding that “all of them are safe.”

Singh said more than 40 patients have been shifted to another Metro hospital.

At the time of the incident, ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flame.
