The Patiala House Court Bench granted bail to former Indian Air Force chief SP Tyagi in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam case.
Earlier, Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had argued against Tyagi’s bail plea, adding that the investigation is at a very crucial stage and hence, too much information could not be shared with the court.
The court has granted him conditional bail with a deposit of Rs 2 lakh as surety. He is not permitted to leave Delhi NCR or influence witnesses in the case.
Tyagi’s bail comes as a blow to the Central Bureau of Investigation as they had previously claimed to have “clinching evidence” against him.
