Following the stampede that broke out at Elphinstone Road Station in Mumbai, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal has ordered a high-level probe into the incident.
The stampede occurred when people started rushing to the foot-over-bridge, seeking shelter, when there was a sudden downpour. With the rain not stopping, and more and more trains passing through the station, more people took to the station to seek shelter.
The high-level committee may or may not consider infrastructural loopholes as a reason behind such incidents. However, commuters continue to be on the receiving end of these shortcomings.
Here are the infrastructural problems faced by the daily commuters, as told to The Quint.
