A day after he quit the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), Dinesh Bambhaniya has alleged that Hardik Patel has entered into an agreement of sorts with the Congress.
Bambhaniya, formerly the second-in-command in PAAS, said he couldn’t understand why Hardik was supporting the Congress, considering the fact that the latter hadn’t given any insight into how it would provide reservation for the Patidar community, if voted to power, PTI reported.
Though there is no clarity how we will get reservation under OBC quota, Hardik is mum about it. It seems like fixing to me. Our fight was not about bringing a party to power. At least I do not wish to be an agent of a party. Hardik should not politicise the agitation.Dinesh Bambhaniya
He added that Hardik was playing right into the hands of the Congress and was “using the agitation for political purposes,” as reported by PTI.
Bambhaniya clarified that he still supported the PAAS, was not against Hardik and was not joining BJP. But he did say that he was disappointed in Hardik for not putting pressure on the Congress regarding the agreements that had been made earlier between the Congress and PAAS.
“Rupani & Gujarat BJP Behind Hardik Tape”
PAAS had earlier alleged that the Gujarat Chief Minister and the state BJP unit chief were behind the "morphed" sex clips of its leader Hardik Patel, a charge rejected by the ruling party. However, Bambhaniya seems to have changed his opinion, stating that while one sex tape can be morphed, he doesn’t think it’s possible for multiple ones to be, reports PTI.
“One CD can be morphed, but, when so many CDs came out, it does not suit a man who is the leader of a community. I am deeply pained by the entire episode,” he said, PTI reports.
We have learnt that a Surat-based builder, who is a BJP supporter, and another person are behind these morphed clips. They did it at the behest of the Gujarat Chief Minister (Vijay Rupani) and state BJP unit president Jitu Vaghani to tarnish Hardik’s image ahead of the polls.Dinesh Bambhania, PAAS Convener had earlier told PTI
His resignation comes days after an alleged threat he made went viral on social media. In the clip, Bambhania can be heard talking to an unidentified man asking him to tell “PM Kheni” not to file his nomination, as The Indian Express had reported in November. Bambhania had however called the clip a fabrication.
