Shortly after a video surfaced on social media of a Lucknow man having built a drone to allegedly rescue a puppy that fell into a 20-feet drain, several people on Twitter and Facebook questioned the intent and veracity of the video.
News agency ANI reported that when Milind Raj found a puppy stuck at the bottom of a 20-feet deep boggy drain in April, he built a machine where a robotic claw was attached to a heavy-lifting drone to rescue it.
He told NDTV, “I decided to use the AI-controlled robotic arm because it has a smart heartbeat sensor attached to the drone. I knew it would be risky but may work”. He further added while speaking to the media organisation that, “The AI helped me monitor the animal's heart rate, If the grip was too tight, the pup would suffocate”.
But, Twitter user Siddharth Singh questioned the motive of the Lucknow man and said, “And look at the video: a ladder would have sufficed. My bet is that the dog was placed there for the video.
He further tweeted, “Even a bucket and a rope would have sufficed. But I guess you don't get to meet the Chief Minister with a bucket and rope.”
On the same thread, other Twitter users also raised doubts about the video.
A few others too thought that the puppy was planted as a prop and it was mainly a publicity stunt from Milind.
On the other hand, there were also several people who congratulated Milind and appreciated his efforts to save a puppy.
According to the NDTV report, Raj said he's adopted the stray dog and named it "Lifted."
Milind Raj was the man behind the humanoid robot that welcomed the President and Prime Minister at the Uttar Pradesh Investor’s Summit.
