One person was killed while three others were injured after a speeding car ran over them near Delhi’s Kashmere Gate early on Thursday morning. The driver, a Class XII student, was arrested immediately after the incident.
According to DCP North Jatin Narwal, the driver of the car claimed to be 18 years of age, but police is currently verifying the documents. He was not carrying his driving licence at the time of his arrest.
There were two other individuals present in the Hyundai i20 car, but are allegedly on the run. The accused informed police that they were heading to school.
Reports also said that the three were out celebrating the end of their board examinations.
Narwal informed that the three are students of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and a case has been registered under Section IPC 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
