- The ban focused on the interview of death row convict Mukesh Singh had led to a huge outcry across the country, with many protesting that the short film be banned.
- PM Narendra Modi had said that the documentary that was to be aired on 8 March, 2015 was banned by the NDA government to respect “the victim and the judicial processes”, in an interview to Time Magazine.
