A Dalit groom was allegedly stopped from entering a temple by a few villagers in Madhya Pradesh's Biroda, reported ANI on Friday, 22 November.
Sandeep Gadwale, the groom, had reportedly taken prior approval to get married in the temple, but miscreants locked the gates when the wedding was scheduled to take place.
Confirming the incident, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kashiram Badolem told ANI that prompt action was taken against the miscreants.
“The collector had directed the police officials to take the approporiate action against those found guilty,” Badole told the news agency.
The SHO of Lalbagh police station has assured that the Dalit family will be given the required protection.
"We had sent a team at the spot to get the things in order after getting the complaint. We will provide protection to the family and will take action against those found guilty," the SHO said.
