Terrorists attacked CRPF and SOG joint camp in Litter village of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir late Friday evening.

Grenades were reportedly hurled and four security personnel were left injured in the attack.

The attack came a week after eight CRPF jawans were killed and 20 others injured on Saturday in a militant ambush on a convoy in Pampore town in Pulwama district.

A police official said the CRPF personnel retaliated the firing by the terrorists at the camp in Litter which is about 35 km from Srinagar.

The exchange of fire lasted 10 minutes after the terrorists hurled three grenades,a CRPF official said.

The attack took place on a day when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high level meeting in Srinagar to review the security situation in the state in the wake of recent spurt in militant attacks.

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and other top civil administration and security officials of the state were also present in the meeting.

Further details are awaited.
