Water woes in Bengaluru have been increasing since the city evolved into the IT/Startup hub of India post 1990.

In a distress year with inadequate rainfall, the Cauvery water dispute has emerged yet again. Both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have seen protestors on road demanding more and more from the Cauvery, an already over-exploited river. The Supreme Court today directed Karnataka to release 6,000 cusecs of water for Tamil Nadu.
