Senior Congress leader Gurudas Kamat passed away in New Delhi on Wednesday, 22 August. He was 63.
He suffered a heart attack and was rushed to Primus Hospital in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, according to CNN News18. Gurudas Kamat had served as the Mumbai Congress President as well.
His death was mourned by politicians from across the political spectrum.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala offered his condolences to Kamat’s family stating, “Shocked and deeply anguished to learn about the sudden demise of Senior Congress Leader Sh Gurudas Kamat ji. No words are enough to describe the sense of loss.”
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot called Kamat’s demise an “irreparable loss”.
