A college student in Gurgaon’s Farrukhnagar was allegedly pulled into a car and raped by two men earlier this week, reported The Times of India. This is the sixth rape case to be reported from Haryana since 13 January. The incident occurred at around 2 pm. According to the report, the men forced her into the car, drove to a forested stretch nearby and raped the woman.
According to ANI, the Haryana Police arrested two of the accused after a complaint was filed on 18 January. One of the accused has been identified as a man named Lalit.
The Times of India, quoted the college student as telling the police that the men raped her and threw her out of the car naked. She alleged that they handed over her clothes after forcing her to promise she wouldn’t report the crime.
This is the latest in a string of brutal rapes in Haryana. On 13 January, a 15-year-old Dalit girl was found dead in Jind. Postmortem revealed that the girl had been gangraped and that her liver was ruptured because a blunt object was inserted into her private parts.
In another case on 13 January, a 22-year old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a moving vehicle by four men in Faridabad. According to the report, the woman was walking home when four men in a Scorpio pulled up, abducted her and raped her for over two hours.
