In a heroic gesture, an officer of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), along with two other CISF personnel on Friday, 26 October, saved a passenger who suffered cardiac arrest at the Mumbai Airport, news agency ANI reported.

WHO IS THE OFFICER?

Mohit Kumar Sharma is an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). He was, at the time of the incident, one of the screeners at the Mumbai airport.

WHO IS THE PASSENGER?

According to ANI, the passenger has been identified as Satyanarayana Gubbala, a resident of Andhra Pradesh. Gubbala, who was scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Hyderabad, collapsed near Terminal 2 of the airport after suffering a cardiac arrest.

HOW HE WAS SAVED

Sharma, along with two other CISF personnel gave cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to Gubbala , news agency ANI reported. Gubbala was later shifted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai’s Vile Parle and his condition is said to be stable.
