The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, 30 May, raided the residence of Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain in connection with the hiring of a creative team in the Public Works Department (PWD).
Jain had set up a creative team of 24 architects for the PWD through a detective agency last year, which had come under the CBI’s scanner, DNA reported.
The CBI also registered a case against Jain and SK Srivastava, the then engineer-in-chief of the PWD, among others, ANI reported.
"CBI raids my house for hiring creative team by PWD. Professionals were hired for different projects. All were forced to leave by the CBI," Jain tweeted on Wednesday morning.
The raid took place just a day after the CBI closed their probe into the appointment of Jain’s daughter as an adviser to the state government’s mohalla clinic project.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking “what does the PM want?” after he was appraised of the raid.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers alleged that the raid was a retaliation against the Delhi government's decision to put a cap on profits of private hospitals by announcing the new "Rate Capping Policy" for private hospitals.
