A non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued on Thursday, 13 December, against all named accused in Bulandshahr violence case. Twenty seven people have been named as accused in the FIR by Uttar Pradesh Police, while 50-60 unidentified persons have also been named.
A police inspector and a civilian were killed after mob violence over rumours of illegal cow slaughter in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district on Monday, 3 December.
On 12 December, Jitendra Malik, alias Jeetu Fauji, a soldier who was allegedly behind the killing of inspector Singh was denied bail by Chief Judicial Magistrate court. He was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a local court on 9 December.
Fauji was handed over to the UP Special Task Force (STF) around midnight of 8 December, following which a preliminary inquiry was done against him.
According to the police, five more arrests were made in connection Singh's death, taking the number arrested persons to nine. The five people, who were arrested, were identified as Chandra, Rohit, Sonu, Nitin and Jitendra but their names were not recorded in the FIR lodged in connection with the violence.
In a separate FIR, seven people of the Muslim community in Nayabans village have been charged with cow slaughter, the alleged incident that triggered the mob violence.
