A 22-year-old man rescued from the Blue Whale Suicide Challenge in Puducherry said on Thursday it was an "agonizing experience" according to NDTV, a death trap that he could not disengage from even though he wanted to.
In the early hours of Tuesday, Alexander was about to carve the Blue Whale motif on his arm, as the final challenge, when a police team barged into his home in Karaikal.
He appealed to people not to try the game on any account, saying “not an app or a game” but a “virtual death trap,” india.com said.
"As soon as I opened the link, I started getting instructions from an 'administrator' about tasks I was to do. They first gave me the task of giving out all my personal details, photographs, mobile number and email ID," Alexander said reported Times of India.
The second task was a game to rescue a small whale from several dangers and taking it to the mother’ level. This was followed by the third task, where Alexander watched a horror movie at odd hours and posted a selfie. The fourth task was to visit a graveyard at odd hours and post a selfie. The fifth was to draw a tattoo of a fish on the forearm using a sharp object.
It was while he was using a knife to carve a fish on himself that the police came, his younger brother Ajith called the police.
I was lucky. I was saved by their timely intervention. I appeal to everyone not to fall prey to the killer game. It’s a death trap, a horrible experience.Alexander said, according to Times of India.
