First it was the Rs 500 crore wedding of former Karnataka BJP minister Janardhan Reddy's daughter. Then came the grand new house of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. And now we have a tweet by BJP MLA Ram Kadam, in which he is emphatically announcing how he has gifted his son an expensive Mercedes car.
India is surely a land of stark contrasts. At a time when people across the country are queuing outside banks and ATMs to be able to get money to meet their daily needs, the politicians do not seem to be showing any sign of concern or inconvenience.
Not just this, the MLA's son does not look like he has reached the eligible age to drive a vehicle. Let's just hope that Kadam was not implying that he is also going to let his son drive the car!
Nevertheless, Twitter has not been too kind to the politician.
The MLA of Ghatkopkar constituency in Mumbai, who describes himself as “dashing”, was earlier a part of the Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). And controversies seem to be a part of his political career – including allegedly slapping a BMC official previously.
