In a major gaffe for the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, a video of the BJP workers clashing amongst each other at a public meeting in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon area emerged on Wednesday, 10 April.

In the video, former BJP MLA BS Patil can be seen getting caught in the middle of the clash, and ending up getting thrashed by the party workers.

The incident occurred at State Water Supply minister and BJP leader Girish Mahajan’s public meeting. Several Shiv Sena leaders were also present when the clashes took place.

While the exact cause of the fight is still unclear, differences over ticket distribution between Uday Wagh and BS Patil is speculated to have triggered the blows, according to Zee Business.

This incident comes barely a month after two elected representatives of the ruling BJP came to blows during the district planning committee meeting at UP’s Sant Kabir Nagar on 6 March, in full public glare.

The incident took place when the planning committee meeting was underway at the collectorate in the presence of minister in-charge of the district, Ashutosh Tandon.
