A neurologist at the Institute of Medical Sciences at the Benaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU), Dr Vijay Nath Mishra and his team, have developed a sanskaari app. Once installed, the app will play bhajans and devotional songs every time the user tries to open a porn site or any other ‘inappropriate’ site.

Named ‘Har Har Mahadev’, the application is designed to block pornograhic, violent and ‘vulgar’ content circulating on the internet and can block up to 3,800 identified websites.

Currently having only Hindu devotional songs, Dr Mishra told The Times of India that work is underway to include songs from other religions as well.

We have developed the website blocker and internet filtering services, so one can surf safely without any fear of opening adult or objectionable sites
Dr Vijay Nath Mishra, Neurologist who developed the app, told The Times of India

Currently designed for laptops and desktops, the app will soon be developed for android phones too.

Ankit Srivastava, a Bengaluru-based web developer who assisted Dr Mishra, told The Indian Express that the app could also enable blocking of social media sites like Facebook and Youtube, which will prove useful for office spaces
