1. Man Molests Daughter on Pretext of Sex Education

A 52 -year-old autorickshaw driver has been booked for sexually assaulting his 16-year-old daughter on the pretext of imparting sex education to her. He is at large.

Police said the accused, father of five girls, abused his second daughter for two years. She warned him on 16 November and when he did not stop, she told her mother on 23 November.

The girl decided to reveal her ordeal when he started harassing her daily.

2. I-T Officials From Chennai Quiz Sasikala in Bengaluru Prison

VK Sasikala, aide of late Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa and former general secretary of the AIADMK, who is currently in Bengaluru central prison was questioned by Income Tax Department officials on Thursday, 13 December. The questioning will continue on Friday, 14 December, in Parapanna Agrahara. The IT officials questioned Sasikala on documents recovered during raids carried out in November 2017 at former CM Jayalalithaa’s residence at Poes Gardens in Chennai .

A senior jail official said, “The I-T officials from Chennai had arrived around 10 am. The questioning will continue tomorrow. We were informed that they will come through Home Department beforehand.”

3. Kumaraswamy Govt Comes Under Fire by its Own MLAs

The HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government, accused of neglecting the northern part of Karnataka, was on Thursday. 13 December, targeted by its own legislators for continuing to favour members from the southern part of the state for positions in the Cabinet and other important posts, deepening the already existent divide between the two parts.

By choosing Pratap Chandra Shetty, a Congress leader from coastal Karnataka (classified broadly as south) as the chairman of the legislative council, the government has revived the debate on regional imbalance, threatening to bring back dissent among its ranks before the 22 December Cabinet expansion.

4. Two children ‘Brought Dead’ to Hospital, Their Mother Arrested

A woman is said to have killed her two children reportedly upset over marital discord in Hubballi on Wednesday, 12 December. The police have arrested her.

The incident took place at Ayodhya Nagar. The children have been identified as six-year-old Rohit Parashuram Hulakoti and Rohini Parashuram Hulakoti. There was tension for some time in the locality and then at the Old Hubballi Police Station as upset relatives and members of the locality staged a protest seeking the arrest of the accused.

On Tuesday evening, 11 December, Chaitra Parashuram Hulakoti allegedly strangled her children to death and later complained to the neighbours and family members that there was something wrong with her children as they were not responding to her.

5. Warehouse Rack Collapse Kills Three Workers

Panic prevailed at Seegehalli in Whitefield when iron racks installed inside a warehouse collapsed and killed three workers on Thursday afternoon, 13 December.

Police said the rescue operation was ongoing and five workers were rescued. They arrested site owner Amanullah and the business head of the warehouse, identified as Ajay, and cases have been registered against them for negligence.

The incident took place at Holisol Warehouse Logistic Pvt Ltd and the deceased have been identified as Farooq, a resident of Koralur near Kadugodi, Subhash and Janan Darshan both hailing from Odisha.
