1. Man Murders Wife, Spends Night Next to Body
A 36-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife on Sunday, 26 November, as he suspected her of cheating on him. He then surrendered to Banashankari police the next morning. Mallesh alias Mallappa, a resident of Padmanabhanagar near Banashankari II Stage, was married to Indira Mallesh, 34, for 12 years. The couple has a nine-year-old daughter. The girl, a class 4 student with a private school nearby, was with her grandparents, who live next to Mallesh's house, police said.
While Mallesh works as a sales executive with telecom major Airtel, Indira was employed as a receptionist with a private company. According to preliminary investigation, a WhatsApp message from Indira's colleague popped up on her phone and Mallesh noticed it.

2. Chennai Woman Falls from 9th Floor of Hotel
A 36-year-old woman from Chennai plunged to death from the 9th floor of a hotel building in the city on Monday, 27 November.
Valliamai plunged down from the terrace of Aloft Hotel in Cessna Business Park, near Kadubeesanahalli. It is the same place where engineer Geethanjali U from Goa, working in ADVA Optical Networking, had plunged to death last week.
Valliamai plunged to death at 1.30 pm. She died on spot from grievous head injuries.
The Marathahalli police found a painting brush, a colour box and some books on the spot. They later informed her husband, Veerappan, and father, Nagappa, after checking her phone.

3. Man Who Was About to Be Buried Alive Rescued
Within an hour of being abducted by a gang of five persons, who wanted to bury him alive in a graveyard at Muniswamappapalya on Friday, 24 November, a 24-year-old school van driver was rescued by the Kumaraswamy Layout police.
On Friday evening, the accused — Murali, Jeeva, Muthu, and Arjun — were riding two scooters on ISRO Layout main road, when one of the two-wheelers collided with a school van that Praveen was driving.
As the men began arguing, Praveen abused them, asked them to follow traffic rules, and immediately alerted the van owner about the accident.
Enraged, two men climbed into the van, overpowered the driver, and drove off to Muniswamappapalya graveyard in Kumaraswamy Layout. The two other accomplices followed the van.

4. ACP, Colleagues Accused of Harassing Victim of Sexual Assault
A probe has been initiated into the behaviour of senior police personnel, including an Assistant Commissioner of Police, who allegedly harassed and posed inappropriate questions to a woman who had approached him to lodge a complaint of sexual harassment.
The woman, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste, had written to the Police Commissioner on 25 November about the harassment.
On 17 September, two men, Hanumanthappa and Ravi, allegedly barged into her residence at Hessarghatta, hurled caste insults before assaulting and groping her for contesting against them in the election to a local Trust, she states in her complaint.
She was admitted to KC General Hospital where the Soledevanahalli police took her statement. However, as there were no arrest or case filed, and as the threats from the accused intensified, she approached the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) on 15 November.

5. Karnataka DG&IGP is Hunting for a Lost Asset — URA’s Inspiring Poetry
The first woman to head the Karnataka State Police, Neelamani N Raju, has decided to search for a valuable asset she lost some time ago, but without filing a police complaint – a collection of poetry by late writer U R Ananthamurthy.
The DG&IGP broached the topic during her address at the 4th State-Level Police Kavigoshti (Police Poetry Meet) as part of the Police Sahitya Sambhrama, jointly organized by Police Sahitya Vedike and Kannada Development Authority at Ravindra Kalakshetra on Monday, 27 November.
The Uttarakhand-born Neelamani was explaining the difficulties she faced during her early days as a police officer in Karnataka, when she was unable to understand Kannada.

6. L&T to Build Second Runway at KIA
Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) will build the second runway of the Kempegowda International Airport here.
The company on Monday, 27 November, officially announced bagging the Rs 1,358-crore contract from the KIA's operator, the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
Besides the construction of a New South Parallel Runway (second runway), the contract includes building apron and associated works.
Taxiway systems, pavement, drainage works, ancillary buildings and associated infrastructure facilities are part of the contract. The project will be completed on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
