Police in Halasuru, Bengaluru, on Monday, 8 April, arrested four employees of a private technology firm who had allegedly abducted and tortured their employer for not having paid their salary for a few months, reported India Today.

The 23-year-old employer, Sujay SK, had started the firm in January but had to wind up operations in March because of financial losses. He had promised to pay his employees their pending salaries, but failed to do so.

Furious over this, a group of seven employees allegedly abducted him on 21 March and took him to a friend’s place in HSR layout, where they tortured him, reported The Hindu.

Sujay was only released after he assured them that he would pay them their salaries.

On returning home, Sujay reportedly tried to commit suicide and had to be rushed to the hospital. The police, who had been informed, took his statement there and filed a complaint.
