With just months to go for the 2019 General Elections, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday, 25 December, said that the political situation in India has become “very difficult” and one cannot say who will be the next prime minister.

Ramdev, who reached Tamil Nadu for a national meeting of his followers being organised at the temple town of Rameswaram, said he is not going to support any person or oppose any party in the Lok Sabha elections due next year.

“I am not focusing on politics,” he said, as per ANI.

"We don't have a political or religious agenda but we want a spiritual country and a spiritual world. Through yoga and vedic practices, we are making a divine, prosperous and spiritual India," said Ramdev.

Later at Rameswaram, 171 km from Madurai, he told media that there is a “big fight in politics now”.

Ramdev, whose role was considered important for the BJP in the 2014 elections, also said that he won’t be supporting any party during 2019 polls.

“I am not opposing or supporting any person or party. But now a political challenge, crisis, and (an) instability I am looking… this is not good for our India,” Ramdev said.

He added that “who will win and who will lead the country… we cannot say now. (But the) political fight will be interesting.”
