With gruesome instances of people harming fellow human beings and even animals doing rounds almost every single day, we were convinced that humanity is dead. But a few random acts of kindness manage to restore our faith now and then. One such incident that garnered much appreciation recently occurred in Pune.
After an ATM security guard’s bicycle was stolen from Nyati Estate, a resident named Tanvi Jain stepped in to help with a simple Facebook post.
A Good Deed
Within a day, she was flooded with positive messages with many offering money. Sadly, some also asked her to not waste her time and even went on to say that a cycle doesn’t cost much. So the guard can afford to buy one on his own. Yes, people can suck at times.
After I posted on Facebook, I thought only 10-15 of my friends would respond. I had no clue that the post would grab so much attention. I asked for a spare cycle so that I could buy time to purchase him a new one but people started offering money which I didn’t want to take.Tanvi Jain
She, along with the owner of a local cafe called ‘Cafe with a Twist’, pitched in and within three days, the guard received a brand new bicycle. We bet that he’s still not stopped smiling yet.
