Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera has joined the Shiv Sena, just three days ahead of assembly elections in Maharashtra on 21 October.
Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh, joined the political party in presence of party chief Uddhav Thackeray and Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray on Friday, at their residence Matoshree in Mumbai.
The party made a formal announcement on their official Twitter, alongside pictures of Aditya Thackeray tying a ‘Shiv Bandhan’ to Shera.
Maharashtra will go to polls on 21 October and the counting of votes will take place on 24 October.
Shiv Sena is contesting the elections in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Shiv Sena is contesting from 124 of the 288 seats, BJP is contesting from 150 seats and smaller allies will contest from the remaining 14 seats.
Maharashtra will go to polls on 21 October and the counting of votes will take place on 24 October.
