The much-anticipated second and final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was published on Monday, 30 July, with 2.9 crore names out of the total 3.29 crore applicants in Assam.
The names of 40.07 lakh applicants did not find a place in the document, touted to be a proof of Assamese identity. The first draft of the NRC, containing 1.9 crore names, was published on the intervening night of 31 December 2017 and 1 January 2018.

Besides Nrcassam.nic.in, applicants can check for names in the draft by visiting the designated NRC Sewa Kendra (NSK), which will be available on all working days from 30 July to 28 September from 10 am to 4 pm.
Applicants can also call the 24x7 toll free number 15107 from Assam, and 18003453762 from outside Assam, by referring to their 21-digit Application Receipt Number (ARN).
