Ashish Pandey, son of a former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Rakesh Pandey, is absconding after Delhi Police has booked him under Arms Act for brandishing a gun at a couple in Delhi's Hyatt Hotel while his female friends hurl abuses at them. The incident occurred on Monday, 15 October.
The police has issued a look-out notice (LOC) for Pandey and are raiding his friends' houses in the national capital.
While his Facebook profile was deleted, some screenshots of his profile taken by Delhi Police, later accessed by The Print, showed Pandey posing with different weapons, including rifles, modern pistols, and cartridges, and even Swiss knives.
The Delhi police, in a press conference, said they are yet verify whether the weapons that he possesses have licences or not. They also added that the legality of the possession of weapons can only be determined once they catch Pandey, reported ANI.
Pandey was dubbed as the “pink pant-wearing man”, after a video of the incident went viral. A resident of Lucknow, the former MLA’s son is a real estate agent by profession.
According to his Facebook profile, he studied Marshall School in Dehradun and later attended Bala Hissar Academy college in the same city.
