The Delhi High Court, on 3 April, closed the defamation suit filed by Arun Jaitley against Arvind Kejriwal in the DDCA row, after the Delhi CM tendered an apology to the Union Finance Minister, PTI reported.

Kejriwal and Jaitley moved a joint plea before a Delhi Court on 2 April, seeking to settle the criminal defamation case. The written apology was tendered by the AAP convenor and party leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Raghav Chaddha.

‘I Was Misinformed’: Kejriwal

These allegations made by me were based on information and papers furnished to me by certain individuals who represented to have first-hand insight into the affairs of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA).

“However, I have recently discovered that the information and the imputations contained therein are unfounded and unwarranted and I was clearly misinformed into making these allegations,” he wrote.

In his letter, Kejriwal states: that “the disparaging & malicious statements” made by his counsel Ram Jethmalani were without his “knowledge and/or instructions”. “I reaffirm what I said earlier, I do not approve of these statements”.

Jaitley filed two cases against Kejriwal and sought compensation of Rs 20 crore.

Embroiled in a legal mess with 30 defamation lawsuits, Kejriwal has been on an apology spree since March. After apologising to Punjab ex-minister Bikram Majithia, Kejriwal apologised to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Congress leader Kapil Sibal's son Amit Sibal.

Kejriwal was acquitted in two separate defamation cases lodged against him by Gadkari and Amit Sibal after he tendered apologies to both of them.
