Less than a week ago, we saw a side of Arnab Goswami that is very different from the persona on Newshour. Arnab wrote a heartfelt, personal obituary to Vinod Mehta, best known as the founding editor of Outlook magazine.

This week’s issue of Outlook features Arnab on the cover. And it calls him the ‘The man who killed TV news.’

This is not the first time Arnab Goswami has been part of the news, rather than reporting it. Last year, Caravan did a cover story on him and more recently activists led by Kavita Krishnan boycotted his show.

The magazine attacks Arnab’s style and the format of his show. But in doing so, it unwittingly elevates him. Over five articles on a news anchor, while the Land Bill debate rages on, Manmohan Singh being probed by CBI and Rahul Gandhi still missing.

Vinod Mehta, founder and architect of the magazine also finds mention in the issue. But he doesn’t get the coverage that Arnab Goswami does.
