The Supreme Court on Tuesday, 13 August, asked Noida and Greater Noida Authorities to start registration of flats in favour of Amrapali home buyers, reported The Times of India.

In a stern warning to the two bodies, the apex court also said that “officers will be sent to jail if there is any delay on their part in handing over possession of flats to buyers,” the report added.

According to CNN-News18, the SC also added that it is not a ‘paper tiger’ and will take steps to ensure that its orders are implemented.

In response, Noida and Greater Noida authorities told the apex court that they have formed special cells and appointed designated officers to look into the problems faced by Amrapali home buyers.

Earlier on 23 July, the Supreme Court had directed the cancellation of registration of embattled Amrapali group under RERA.
