Here are some of your queries answered:
What would be my options if I want to pursue Photography as a full-time job? I looked into doing Mass Communication from Jamia Milia Islamia but often see people struggle, even after completing the course with good percentage/marks.Mankirat Singh
Dear Mankirat,
Photography is a good option as a full-time job. There are various colleges in India that offer bachelor, diploma and even certifications in photography. However, the college that you choose to pursue photography from doesn’t matter much in this field and it is the internships and training sessions that help you secure a good job. While pursuing a course in photography, make sure that you take up formal internships in news agencies, entertainment, fashion, creative or other such industries.
Here are some options:
Option I: Photo Studios
Option II: Opportunities in the Market

I have done BTech Civil from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. Now, I want to do an MSc in Mathematics from MDU. In the Information Brochure, it is mentioned that the student must have completed a three-year bachelor degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects in each semester/year – or any other examination recognised by Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, as equivalent thereto. My query is whether BTech Civil is considered as an equivalent degree recognised by MDU for doing MSc Mathematics or not? Please advise if I am eligible for this course.Aditi Vasishtha
Hi Aditi,
I’m afraid you will not be eligible for M.Sc in Mathematics with a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering. M.Sc Mathematics is not only a specialised course, but is also an advanced PG course that requires appropriate preparation at the bachelor level in order to become qualified for the same. This is the reason why universities in India require you to pursue a bachelor degree in mathematics in order to pursue M.Sc Mathematics.
I suppose you will be eligible for M.Sc in Geology since you are a Civil Engineering major but the exact eligibility criteria will vary from institute to institute and university to university. Check with the specific universities where you want to apply in order to be sure. You will definitely be able to apply for an M.Sc. Geology in universities abroad, after qualifying through the appropriate entrance exam. Some foreign universities may even consider you for M.Sc in Statistics and M.Sc Mathematics.
Good luck!
