A 35-year-old female security guard was attacked by two miscreants on her way back from work in Meerut’s Shatabdi Nagar colony on late Thursday night, the Times of India reported on Friday, 23 November.
According to the TOI report, the attackers were allegedly hired by the owner of a school, of which the woman was an employee. She had earlier snubbed his advances.
The 35-year-old sustained burns on her face, chest and hands, the report added. She is reportedly recovering in a private hospital.

Sachin Sharma, the doctor treating the victim, told ANI that the victim’s condition is very critical. “She is suffering from 30-40% deep burns on her head, face and right shoulder. Her eyes have not been saved. We are treating her in the best possible way,” Sharma said.
On Friday, the police arrested four people, including the owner of Saint Vivekanand Public School Ajab Singh. The two attackers identified as Ankit Singh and Rinku Kumar were held, the TOI report added. Shravan Kumar, supplier of the acid bottle, was also held, the daily reported.
