AAP has not put up a single candidate in the Bengaluru civic polls or the BBMP polls scheduled on August 22 and yet has released what they have termed as the “People’s Manifesto”.
After Delhi and Punjab, the AAP’s major support base has been Bengaluru City ever since it came into existence.
Their plan for “Bombastic Bengaluru” highlighted the the various civic issues that the city encounters for which they have chalked out potential solutions based on their interactions with the people, social-welfare organizations, surveys and inputs received from their party members.
AAP’s “ People Manifesto” tries to address some of the issues that have been troubling Bengaluru, like infrastructure, water and waste management system and corruption in civic bodies. It also highlights education, sustainable development, health and a host of other civic issues and suggests measures to tackle and resolve these festering issues which the tech city faces.
The manifesto of AAP is not entirely different from that of other mainstream parties who are contesting these election: a statement of pious intentions.
