It seems democracy is passé for the Aam Aadmi Party as far as its internal policies are concerned.
In recent days the AAP has shown the door to not just its founding members but also its ombudsman, in violation of its own rules.
The term of each party Lokpal/ Lokayutkta member shall be three years. However, in so far as the first body constituted by the national/ state/ district executive is concerned, members shall retire by rotation on a yearly basis starting from the end of the year of the first year.

On Sunday the party sacked its Lokayuktas Admiral Ramdas and Ilina Sen.
AAP’s Self-Destruct Mode
The latest to quit the AAP’s National Executive was its Tamil Nadu leader Christina Samy. She accused the Party of doing exactly the opposite of what it had promised.
I am resigning from my post in the national executive committee as I feel volunteers have been betrayed. AAP has lost trust in its own founding principles and the constitution and system of Lokpal. It has shattered the hopes and dreams of millions of common people.
– Christina Samy (in her resignation)
Meanwhile Rakesh Sinha, a member of the party’s National Executive was suspended, for raising questions over the removal of Admiral Ramdas and Prashant Bhushan.
Yet, the autocracy isn’t likely to end anytime soon. Speaking to The Quint, its National Executive member Ilyas Azmi stated that Arvind Kejriwal is now given to finding flaws where none might exist.
They don’t agree with socialists like Yogendra Yadav or myself. They think it does not agree with the politics they practice. So, if there is nothing wrong outwardly, then they will find flaws that will be enough to build a case against someone.
