A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped inside a private school by a staffer in Punjab's Dhuri town of Sangrur district on Saturday, 25 May, reported The Times of India.
The incident reportedly happened during the Parent-Teacher Meeting when the staffer took the girl inside a washroom on the pretext of playing.
The matter came to light the next day when the girl complained of pain. As per the report, the parents learned about the injuries on her private parts and she was rushed to a hospital.
The reports of the girl’s medical examination is awaited however the doctors in their initial observation have confirmed penetration and injuries on her private parts.
As per a Hindustan Times, the accused has been identified as Kamal, a 27-year-old bus conductor, who was reportedly arrested within an hour after the report was filed. A case has been registered under Section 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of the IPC.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Dhuri deputy superintendent of police said that the school management has also been booked.
Meanwhile, the parents of the girl and the residents of Dhuri protested outside the police station demanding immediate action.
