A businessman was shot dead in Noida on 25 February. The incident occurred on the Bhangel road of the city when three assailants on a bike fired six rounds on the man as he resisted a robbery attempt, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Diwakar Kansal, a Noida-based businessman who used to run a confectionary shop in Bhangel. According to Dainik Bhaskar, the victim’s family has refused to accept the body until the assailants are nabbed.
The assailants fled with the victim’s bag, with Rs 5 lakh in it.
According to the report, an angry mob began pelting stones at the PCR and tried to set it on fire when it arrived at the spot of the crime.
The police left the spot and returned to collect the body once the mob dispersed. The mob also disrupted traffic on the morning of 26 February, the daily reported.
