Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday completed 100 days in office and said he was committed to the welfare of the farmers and the poor.

He said his government was committed to Jan Sangh ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay's ideal of "antyoday" or the rise of the poorest of the poor.

Addressing the media in Lucknow, Adityanath said that his government was following the Narendra Modi-led Central government's maxim of "Sabka sath, sabka vikas."

Unveiling a booklet titled 100 Din Vishwaas Ke, Yogi Adityanath said that he wanted to ensure the people that his government had begun working towards the state’s development.

Blaming the earlier Akilesh Yadav-led SP government in the state, he said,

Uttar Pradesh lacked development due to corruption and nepotism in the past years

Further, he declared that 24 January will here on be observed as ‘Uttar Pradesh Day’, with 2017 being observed as the ‘Garib Kalyan Varsh’.

We are very satisfied with the work we have done in the first 100 days of government. This government is working for all sections of the society without any discrimination.

Yogi Adityanath added that the women in the state feel safer now after the formation of the anti-romeo squad. The government has also announced cane dues of over Rs 22,517 crore that is to be paid to cane growers.

Despite these initiatives, the Yogi Adityanath government faces major challenges – some of the biggest being raising funds for the farm loan-waiver and law and order issues, that include communal clashes.
