- Archana Dwivedi, the wife of City Superintendent of Police Mukul Dwivedi, who was killed in Mathura violence last week, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Uttar Pradesh Home department.
- The decision to appoint her as a gazetted officer was taken at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
- Dwivedi was among 29 killed in clashes during a drive to evict illegal occupants of Jawahar Bagh by activists, believed to be of Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrahi, following an order of the Allahabad High Court.
