- Two policemen were injured on Tuesday when a mob allegedly set to fire a police outpost and six two-wheelers as they protested an encroachment drive by the civic body on Ajwa Road in Vadodara.
- The mob of 200 attacked officials of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) when they reached Suleiman-Ni-Chal locality to carry out the demolition, according to the police officials. Two policemen sustained minor injuries. Teargas was used to disperse the mob.
- The VMC is on a major demolition drive across the city as part of Smart City project. It issued a notice on 28 May, giving three days to people who were living “illegally” in the locality to evacuate. The people erected around 227 temporary houses on a plot which is reserved for a garden.
