Two Indian Sailors Die as Vessel Catches Fire in Yemen

Rescue teams in Djibouti and Oman have been sent to provide assistance

Two Indian sailors died and three were seriously injured after a fire broke out in a vessel in Yemen, on Monday. The vessel was named Al-Sadda.

Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, informed about the accident in a series of tweets.

Yemen - We have lost two Indian sailors Mahesh Kumar Rajagopal and Deepu Lathika Mohan due to fire in a vessel Al Sadaa. My condolences./1

The three injured have been admitted in a hospital in Salalah, Oman. Our missions in Djibouti and Oman are providing all assistance./2

The injured have been taken to a hospital in Salalah in Oman. The Indian missions in Djibouti and Oman have been rushed to the site of the accident to provide assistance.
