Incidentally, the Burhwal-Balamau passenger train engine also derailed at the same spot on 18 September.
There has been a spate of train derailments in the past few months. In August alone, four trains were derailed.
The Utkal Express, the Kaifiyat Express, followed by two more train derailments, stacked up an appalling number of such incidents.
At least 23 people were killed in the train derailments, while hundreds more were injured. Probes to ascertain the cause of the derailment and efforts to provide the affected families with compensation are still on.
