Two more people were arrested by Shivaji Nagar police in connection to the Deonar fire case, on Saturday. They have been sent to police custody till 25 April by a Mumbai court.
According to media reports, the two arrested are the alleged masterminds of the fire incident.
Previously police had arrested nine scrap dealers in connection with the multiple fires that had broken out at the Deonar dumping ground.
The arrested, all of whom are residents of Shivaji Nagar, were booked under sections that include negligence and causing damage to public property of the IPC.
Three fires had broken out at the dumping ground between 28 January and 20 March.
A probe was launched after the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai filed two complaints and an FIR against unknown persons was lodged at the Shivaji Nagar police station.
Meanwhile, pressure from environmentalists and residents has led the Devendra Fadnavis government to consider shifting the landfill.
