Swaraj and Aziz informed the media that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) from Pakistan will reach India on 27 March and start the probe on the next day. However, the details of what the focus of the probe will be and the access the team will have, were not divulged.

Aziz also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif are likely to meet in Washington later this month. Aziz has extended an invite to Modi for the SAARC meeting in Pakistan.

Aziz reportedly admitted that attack on Pathankot had created tension between India and Pakistan, but also stresed that the dialogue should be intensified.
